Rakia Raza is a multidisciplinary professional — Visual Artist, Psychologist, Writer, Art & Drama Therapist, and Creative Trainer — with over 12 years of diverse experience across the creative and therapeutic fields. She holds academic and professional credentials in Visual Arts & Psychology and is a practicing therapist with a specialization in art and drama-based psychotherapeutic approaches. Her journey as a visual artist spans over a decade, during which she has worked in oil paints, charcoal, pastels, and gold leaf, exploring themes of self-discovery, ancient symbolism, and emotional transformation. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Pakistan and internationally, including the Young Artists Exhibition (Pakistan) in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022, and exhibitions in China (2024, 2025) and Tanzania (2019). One of her key showcases, The Seekers (2022), was a portrait-based group exhibition held at Coopera Art Gallery.
She was shortlisted for the Anna Molka National Award in 2021 and 2022.. In 2024, Rakia exhibited her work in the international group show Echoes of Love (China), where her painting won the Silver Prize among contributions from over 30 international artists. She was also invited by The International Art Education & Therapy Development Academic Association (China) and selected as one of the finalists among 33 artists from nine countries who showcased multidisciplinary creative expressions exploring resilience and human experience through painting, literature, and film.
In addition to her personal practice, Rakia has contributed as a visual artist and illustrator, collaborating with institutions and organizations on a range of creative projects. Through her art platform, Red Dot Studios- Art and design Hub, she has conducted multiple batches of art classes, offering beginner and advanced courses in drawing and visual arts to students and young artists.
Beyond the arts, Rakia is an accomplished psychologist and certified Art & Drama Therapist, practicing since 2012. She has led clinical art therapy programs, conducted Art Therapy workshops for professionals, doctors, arm forces and students and conducted research-based creative therapeutic work. Her earlier portrait series from 2012 documented 30+ patients with psychotic and neurotic disorders and was developed under clinical supervision at Fountain House, Lahore.
She is also the founder and CEO of WAY2C – Creative Therapies & Training Hub, a center that offers integrative workshops and training programs for personal development, psychological wellness, and corporate skill-building. WAY2C operates at the intersection of therapy, art, education, and training, delivering services across diverse sectors including corporate, academic, medical, and defense.
As a fiction writer, Rakia has published four books, with stories that explore psychological themes, emotional resilience, identity, and human behavior.
Rakia also works as script writer and short film director, leading a Media Production House Ajanta House of Creations.
She has been a guest speaker, panelist, and trainer at numerous national and international conferences, webinars, and institutional events, speaking on topics including art therapy, psychology, mental health, creativity, and empowerment.
